MATCH REPORT: BFL LADIES 3-7 CARDIFF MET

Cardiff Met and Briton Ferry Llansawel played to a ten goal affair in what was an exciting game.

Met opened the scoring within minutes- some unsettled touches from a nervy home side- whom are missing a few key individuals, including Captain & organiser Angela Ninian, midfield playmaker Leah Davies and the WPWL’s Fabergas – Lucy Powell.

Within another five, the home side had got their foot on the ball and started to make the Met move, stretching them down both flanks – which, led to a reward of a coolly slotted penalty by Ferry taking the match back to 1-1.

The class and experience of university side allowed them to break with both speed and precision and go ahead once more.

It wasn’t long before they further extended their lead- once again the skill obvious to all at Old Road.

Renee Day had gone off with in injury, and on conceding the third, from absolutely nowhere – the home side stepped up to the plate.
A quick ball down the wing send through the Ferry winger who slotted home superbly – 2-3 –
The home side went from 2nd to 5th gear in an instant- the entire ground buzzed – everyone on their feet, screaming as loud as their lungs could cope- further driving the home side on.

Halftime: BFL 2-3 Met

The second started in a haze – a quick ball wide by Met followed by an own goal leaving the home side 2-4 down.

Ferry rose up again, and pounced on a missed clearance to bring it back to 3-4.

A hefty challenge then left the away side down to 10. 

3 late goals left it at 3-7 – and all credit to the capital side for the win.
